Over Henk

Onderzoek en onderwijs zijn de twee vaste ingrediënten in de loopbaan van Henk. Hij was actief in het Brusselse secundair onderwijs als leerkracht gedragswetenschappen, cultuurwetenschappen en geschiedenis. Daarna werkte hij 8 jaar als wetenschappelijk medewerker aan het KADOC-KU Leuven. In die periode doctoreerde hij op een historisch onderzoek over de Vlaamse migratie in Frankrijk en schreef hij mee aan een publicatie over de geschiedenis van het katholiek onderwijs in België. Sinds 2015 is hij verbonden aan de lerarenopleiding van de Thomas More Hogeschool. In de opleiding Bachelor Secundair Onderwijs geeft hij geschiedenis en geschiedenisdidactiek. In de opleiding Bachelor Lager Onderwijs ligt zijn focus vooral op didactiek historische tijd.

About Henk

Research and education are the two permanent ingredients in Henk’s career. He was active in Brussels secondary education as a teacher of behavioral sciences, cultural sciences and history. He then worked for 8 years as a scientific assistant at KADOC-KU Leuven. During that period he obtained his PhD in history on Flemish migration in France and he co-edited a publication on the history of Catholic education in Belgium. Since 2015, he has been affiliated with the teacher training program of the Thomas More University College. In the Bachelor of Secondary Education program he is teaching history and history didactics. In the Bachelor of Primary Education program he is mainly focusing on didactics historical time.
